No Rest for a Long-Distance Runner by ROBIN FINN
I think that the headline is good because it doesn’t exactly tell the reader what the story is truly about. it give us clues on what we are prepared to read. the headline works well with the overall message because the story is about a lady name Marry Wittenberg who used to run marathons but cant anymore because of her knees, but she resists to take a rest from running so she just runs along with other marathon runners. the lead was written nice simple and short, it got to the point where readers already knew what the story was going to be about.the sources in the article were Ms. Wittenberg, 48, lives on the Upper East Side with her husband, Derek, a banker, and their two sons, Alex, 9, and Cary, 8. the story could have contained other sources such as other runner she ran with, and maybe a coach who might have trained her, because maybe they might wanted to say something that could have benefited her story. this story could have used more background history on her and more information on her kids to see if they would like to pursue in their mother foot steps in becoming a marathon runner . this story is newsworthy because not every female who has two kids will keep running as a hobby after their most valuable prize which their knee has given up on them. some women would have took up a hobby that involves sitting.
i selected this article because i use to run and i realized how far people have gotten with running. people do it for reason good ones at that such as the breast cancer walk, aids walk and domestic violence walk.
