This article talks how the Apple Company has future plans of merging with the Verizon Wireless Network in 2011. The headline was very advertising. It reminded me of a commercial or an ad in the newspaper. It served its purpose of grabbing the readers attention. It works with the story because it draws the readers in and informs them about what is occurring. The lead was very dull and boring. This was a what lead. It gave the readers information and that was it. It wasnt very effective at all. It only stated facts that were very plain. Luckily I wanted to know more about this new invention so I continued reading to find out as much as I can. The sources used in the article were Steven P. Jobs(Apple's Chief Executive), Mr.Sacconaghi, Charles Wolf, and Tony Melone. Some other sources that could've been used might be more Verizon and Apple representative because it seemed to me as though they had no say in this agreement. I've heard no remarks, words, or comments from either comapny pertaining to the merging of Verizon and Apple. It would be more interesting if the readers heard what each company had to say about why they decided to make such a drastic change. Something else that could've been used in the article was feedback from the customers and how they feel towards the idea of verison being available on the new Iphone4. This would spice up the story and give it some spark that way it wouldnt seem as boring. The readers will want to read it if people just like them have a say in this new idea. I think that this article is newsworthy because it is up to date with our time. Nowadays everyone owns an Apple product, whether its the Ipod, The Apple Computer, or the Iphone. This type of news is important because it informs the readers about something good they want to hear.
I chose to write this article because I find it very exciting that apple and verizon are finally merging. I like apple very much but I currently have Verizon servies. I always wanted to hsve both and it's good to know that now I finally have that option.
